Ray Hatfield

Ray Hatfield credits a very early interest in art to sketching while in school growing up along the banks of the Savannah River. He later studied art at Armstrong Atlantic University and has since attended many workshops taught by other accomplished artists. Ray's paintings show a wide range of interests, including seascapes and landscapes as well as a wide variety of abstractions. In his abstract works one sees the spontaneity of expression that reflects his life experiences. Ray mainly paints in his home studio, but he will begin an idea or scene outdoors (plein aire). This is especially true of his lowcountry scenes.
